When the movie started and I saw that it was about the Supreme Court, I instantly became excited because I always want to know more about this branch. The reason for that is because it's very rare to hear about the Supreme Court on the news. I also have not really talked about it all that much except for when I was in 8th grade us history class. I do not usually think of the duties a Supreme Court Justice is involved in and what their everyday tasks are.

In the video, it talked about how the Supreme Court can handle dozens of cases each week with them reaching almost 7,000 or more cases in a year. One of the justices was speaking on the subject of how he looks at a case when he gets one. He talked about how he usually has already made up his mind before the case even begins, and that it usually never changes. I thought this was not the smartest approach because it is going to make the final discretion of the case have an extreme bias and in the end, it won't be fair.

The job of the Supreme court is very important because it really takes part in the system of checks and balances. They try and make sure that the rules of the constitution are followed and that any bills that are passed are going to benefit the states. Without the supreme court to watch over the other branches and our rights as American citizens we would not be able to say we are free. The Constitution is what makes the United States free and the Supreme Court watches over that.
